City of Emeryville
The City of Emeryville lies on the east shore of San Francisco Bay between Oakland and Berkeley at the confluence of several major freeways. The city is just over one square mile. The resident population was 12,905 as of 2020. For a geographically small city, it's packed with industry, art, hotels and shopping, and is the home to brands such as Peet's Coffee & Tea, Pixar, Clif Bar, Chiron and Trader Vic's. In the early 20th century, Emeryville was as well known for its gambling houses and bordellos as it was for its booming industrial sector.
